How To Help Mexican Orphans

By Margaret McDonald

An orphan is a child who has lost one or both parents. There are approximately 132 million children worldwide who are orphans according to UNICEF. Sadly not all of them have been catered for by these statistics. There are those who have been abandoned by these numbers. Some people have raised money to help Mexican orphans living in various orphanages in the country.

Some kids are victim of circumstances leading to them being abandoned. Maybe they were chased out of their homes due to religious conflict. There are those whose parents died from road accidents and end in orphanages after the close relatives refuse to take them in. During these hustles trying to find a place to live most of them get hooked to drugs as a survival means.

It is heartbreaking to see a child left out in the street with no one to give them their basic needs. Those kids who survive street life survive by turning into criminals or become drug addicts. In some cases those who had been taken in by a family member do run away after being made laborers. Others would prefer to join a terror group as long as they can be fed and clothed.

There is a need to make a difference in their lives. It does not matter which religion you come from as long as you love kids you need to do something about it. These innocent orphans need your support to make an impact in their lives. Everyone was born with specific basic needs like food and shelter. If you can provide any of these basic needs to them you have to help them.

These kids need to be guided and mentored after you have given them food and shelter. Get to know their stories help you to learn how you will handle them. Most of them have been hurt and their egos bruised. Having a conversation makes them feel free and comfortable to let you know in case they have another underlying issue.

In most occasions orphans seek the attention they feel they should have gotten from their parents. If you want to work in an orphanage be ready to participate in their fun activities. Give them all the attention they deserve and answer any questions they could have regarding life. This makes them feel they belong and with time they are able to get back their confidence.

Adoption and foster care are never a solution as most people may think. Most of these children seeking to be adopted could have legal issues. Some have been caught in criminal activities hence hard to be adopted. When it comes to foster homes most of them are badly taken care of while in developing there are no foster homes.

To understand the best way to help the orphans one must understand that a child will first seek their critical needs. This leads to a particular pattern. For example if a child steals food and it satisfies their hunger they will do the same over and over as a means of survival. These kids become what they have learnt during their struggle to survive.
