Off Duty Police Officers And How You May Need Them

By Ronald Kennedy

You might want some extra protection for your home, and it can be an occasion. This might be a good time to contact persons like off duty police officers Milwaukee WI. There are many cops moonlighting to provide security and like services as a way to supplement their income, and if their duty hours permit them.

They can be found in certain places serving their profession, like bars that work like locals for their members, a common water hole for them. Businessmen with access to these could use contacts there for making money. Locals are the places where contacts are made, schedules and resources are pooled for personnel or volunteers.

The extra money is paid in hourly rates, and this might mean higher fees or rates because of the expertise of cops. They are usually great at deterring crime or legally able to shield a civilian from criminals, so it is simply an extension of their work when they privately help civilians. Out of their uniforms and their duties they can do so.

In any event they will usually have their own guns when not doing duty, firearms they call safety guns, and something to protect them or do work when not on duty. The capacity in carrying is something which clients can appreciate well. Not that guns will be used, but these are extra deterrence for purposes of security.

For instance, a rich businessman may be in need of additional bodyguards during a bank run. The cop who is idling away time in the local may be contacted by their middle man, the person who runs this nice sideline for them. If amenable, and when he thinks that he could take on the job, he agrees and drives over to the client.

Milwaukee has a good police department, although from time to time its members could need more cash. It does not actually reflect on incomes for their job, simply that they might have some use of extra cash. They might be supporting many or have to have urgent cash, or perhaps to add what they can to domestic income.

Some superiors will need advisories about how they are moonlighting jobs. This simply put is for transparency, and other contingencies connected to their primary job. Sometimes there may be emergencies that need all available responders and times like these policemen will need to answer calls of duty.

When personnel are spending time for other jobs in the private sector it makes sense to be transparent. This way there will be no negative questions asked. Bosses in police forces also understand reasons for their policemen to moonlight, and when they know so, they could work out other options for solving contingencies.

Most times police officers have their own preferences for jobs like these. They might have reasons other than making more money. Some are even preparing for the time they could retire from the pressures of policing and are practicing the job they will want to secure once they have resigned.
